Wedding catering in Belgrade: menu, budget and timeline guide

From the welcome cocktail to the cake — what well-planned wedding catering looks like and which decisions you make when.
Food is one of the few parts of a wedding every guest experiences personally. That is why wedding catering is planned as a timeline, not just a menu: when guests arrive, when they are seated, when the main course is served and when the cake comes out.
1. When to book
For May, June and September dates in Belgrade we recommend booking 8–12 months ahead. Off-season, 4–6 months is enough. Tastings are usually scheduled 2–3 months before the date, once the approximate guest count is known.
2. What a good service timeline looks like
| Time | Segment | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 0:00–1:00 | Welcome cocktail | Finger food and drinks as guests arrive |
| 1:00–1:30 | Seating and starter | Cold platters or plated starter |
| 1:30–2:30 | Main course | Table service, 8–10 min per table |
| 3:30 | Dessert table | After the first music block |
| 4:30–5:00 | Wedding cake | With coffee and digestifs |
| 6:00+ | Late-night bite | Warm snacks for guests who stay |
3. Choosing a menu that fits your guests
Guest profile matters more than trends. If most guests are family, the classic sequence of cold starter, soup, main course with sides and a dessert table works best. For a younger crowd, stations — carving, pasta bar, cheeses and seasonal salads — work better because they keep people moving and mingling.
- Always plan a vegetarian and a gluten-free main course.
- Plan a children's menu for every guest under 12.
- For international guests add one recognisable local dish — it is remembered.
- Plan the dessert table as 4–6 small formats rather than two large cakes.
4. What to ask before signing
- Does the quote include staff, equipment, transport and setup?
- How many waiters per 100 guests? (the standard is 1 per 15–20 for plated service)
- Until when can the guest count change without a fee?
- Is there a plan B for bad weather at outdoor events?
- Who handles cleanup and equipment removal afterwards?
5. Budget and how pricing works
Wedding catering pricing depends on guest count, menu, service format, venue and staffing. Every quote is therefore individual — send us the date, venue, approximate guest count and the format you have in mind and we will prepare one.
We cater weddings in Belgrade and within 100 km, including venues without a kitchen, where we arrive with a complete mobile setup.
